Initial situation
The vape shop Gubrist, a well-known supplier of e-cigarettes and accessories in Zurich, planned to expand its online presence in order to reach a larger customer base. The goals for the web project were multi-layered:
STRATEGY & IMPLEMENTATION
The implementation of the web project required a detailed analysis of the target group and the competition. The subsequently developed UI/UX design was implemented on Shopware 6 and impresses with its user-centered, distinctive design.
To emphasize the desired industrial character of the brand, which is already portrayed in the vape shop logo, a dark color palette with brown-beige highlight colors was put together. Custom icons in the navigation and dynamic filter functions on the category pages ensure maximum flexibility for users.
In addition, a centrally positioned global search function and a payment gateway with all common payment methods (including Twint) were implemented, offering users maximum convenience in payment processing.
The connection to the local cash register system and the Bexio accounting software was seamless and was set up so that inventory and payments between the online shop and the physical store are processed automatically.
RESULTS
Thanks to the redesign and targeted on-page SEO measures, Vapeshop Gubrist climbed to first place for the competitive keyword “Vapeshop” within 6 months and was able to rank in the top 3 for the keyword “Vape Shop Zurich”.
Overall, the site ranked within the top 100 search results through targeted technical optimizations as well as on-page optimization of the texts for a total of 803 keywords - within just 6 months of SEO.
